Background

HSBC, 'The world's local bank', helps over 41 million people worldwide to manage and save for their futures with a complete range of personal financial products.

To provide such a service, HSBC has a diverse workforce of over 335,000 people, many of whom are graduates trained through HSBC's graduate programmes.

HSBC's Group Graduate & Induction Programmes Manager approached Catalyst looking for an event that would give the Group Graduate Development Team an opportunity to observe graduates in action during a team building exercise.

Choosing Catalyst & Big Picture

The Group Graduate Development Team chose Catalyst due to the fact that we had been recommended by an HSBC colleague.

Having already had first hand experience of a Big Picture event, they chose this event for the Group Graduate Development Programme also.  The Group Graduate & Induction Programmes Manager felt that it linked well into HSBC's Level 1 Group Capabilities for:

On the day

Big Picture was held on the last day of a four week residential Leadership Development Programme. In their own words, the Group Graduate Development Team explains:

"The Big Picture event is a highly interactive and entertaining teambuilding event that gives the graduates the opportunity to review their main strengths and areas for development and to consider how to take these forward when back in the business. It enabled the graduates to undertake an event that would put all their learning obtained during the previous four weeks to good use. It also wrapped up the programme well and the graduates left on a high."
