Take on a challenge of Olympic proportions as your team strive to go higher, faster and longer!

Introducing Going For Gold…

London 2012 is set to be a truly unforgettable experience: from the wonder of the opening ceremony to the thrills of the sporting action, there is nothing quite like the Olympic Games! Going For Gold is your team’s chance to experience the passion, fervour, grit and determination that it takes to attain the ultimate prize – a gold medal!

Designed to be both challenging and fun, Going For Gold’s primary focus is teamwork. At the same time as demonstrating that ‘the sum is always greater than the whole’, this event also proves that you can have an extraordinary amount of fun striving to be the best. As your team experiences victory, you will no doubt feel the exhilaration of achieving the seemingly impossible. There will be moments of pure magic, epic triumphs of teamwork and even instances of utter desperation to win!

In an event that enables the lessons learned on the track and field to be transferred to the workplace and beyond, your team will experience the thrills and spills of the ultimate sporting challenge. Take on the Olympics today and go for gold with your team!

What will happen during Going For Gold?

  • Just like the real Olympics, Going For Gold will open with a spectacular Opening Ceremony as your teams are announced, flags are unfurled and banners are held aloft.
  • A number of artistic and energising performances will be attempted as a mass warm-up ready for the competition ahead.
  • Your participants will then go on to complete a range of varied and unusual challenges.
  • Occasionally these challenges may bear resemblance to an Olympic event but, more often than not, we try to encourage and reinforce the sheer power of unadulterated teamwork!
  • Our unique events include Synchronised Swimming (without the water!), Curling (without the ice!), Mini Bike Pursuit, Alternative Rhythmic Gymnastics and Giant Beach Volleyball, to name but a few.
  • More traditional events include Tag Rugby, Human Table Football, Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting and Archery.
  • Your teams will always compete against one another and everyone will be involved throughout.
  • A live leader board will keep everyone informed and at each event the previous Going For Gold record will be evident for all to see.
  • In a grand finale, your teams will compete for one last time to determine their final, overall team podium positions.
  • The Master of Ceremonies will then announce the final scores and the three winning teams will take to the podium.
  • Laurel leaves and medals will be awarded, particular performances may be highlighted and congratulated and collective celebration will ensue.

Testimonial

Having given you a clear brief, you went away and delivered a fun experience that will be talked about for some time. How The West Was Won delivered key messages in a professional but hugely fun and engaging way. The facilitator you provided was excellent at drawing out all the right messages and drawing business parallels. I was also very comfortable with your flexibility in being able to shape the game to meet my specific needs.
