From dustbin lids to rolling pins, the equipment used is complementary to today’s recycling and resourced-focused society. Conveying a strong message of sustainability, StreetBeat effectively demonstrates how powerful results can be achieved with limited resources. Some of our clients have even taken this one step further by encouraging their participants to bring or find recycled materials with which to build their own instruments.

What will happen during StreetBeat?

• To begin, your participants will work in groups facilitated by talented percussionists and choreographers to discover the sounds that can be produced from a range of equipment.
• Teams will be divided into wooden, metallic and plastic ‘bands’ in which they will use almost anything as an instrument, from dustbin lids, rolling pins and assorted industrial packaging to wheelie bins, drainpipes and brooms amongst others.
• Work-gear, such as high-visibility jackets, gloves, overalls and hardhats will also be provided for your teams to complete the full visual effect.
• Your delegates will have considerable influence in creating their StreetBeat showpiece and once they have mastered all the skills they need, they will craft their raw music and movement into a powerful performance that will delight participants and audience alike.
